Huge thanks to all the schools, pupils, teachers, Local Authorities, AFLO’S, Armed Forces personnel, Your North and the brilliant team at SSCE Cymru who we have worked with on our Health, Well-being and building resilience sessions supported by the Welsh Government.
Our sessions have been delivered to service children and their class friends across multiple schools whilst also bringing children together from different areas within Wales this year in Bridgend, Cardiff, Gwynedd, Ceredigion, Newport, Caerphilly, Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire, Blaenau Gwent, Flintshire, Monmouthshire, Wrexham & Merthyr.

The event took place over two days the first day was held at the amazing location of Ty Calon, Flintshire and saw schools from Sandycroft County Primary School, Ysgol Ty Ffynnon, Mountain Lane C.P. School, Sealand Primary School, Ysgol Bryn Gwalia, Rhos Helyg County Primary School, Queensferry & Ysgol Merllyn. With the second day engaging with Gwenymynydd, Ysgol Y Waun, Ysgol Maes glas and Maes Y Felin take part in some amazing fun activities team building activities.
It’s fantastic to see our children outside in the great outdoors having fun, with so many smiles. the event was supported by Flintshire County Council and SSCE Cymru.
The days consisted of a team of highly qualified Military veterans delivering inspiring fun sessions based around health, well-being and building resilience, giving the pupils taking part something to really smile about! We all know that being active with physical activity boosts our health and ability to resist and overcome illness. This day cemented that along with some fantastic tips on diet and nutrition.
The challenges all contained elements of fitness, mental and team building challenges that promote communication skills whilst working together to overcome problems. Almost 300 learners took part over the two days and It was great see from the learner feedback forms that 100% of all the attendees would like to do similar activities again and 99.66% of the attendees said they had fun!
